Limited warranty

What's covered

For twelve months from the date you receive the watch, Elite Watchworks warrants the assembly work and the timekeeping regulation against defects. In plain terms: if something I did comes undone, that's mine to fix.

• Assembly faults — a hand coming loose, a dial shifting, a bezel or chapter ring moving out of alignment
• Movement failure under normal use that isn't caused by damage
• Timekeeping falling outside the regulated rate published on the watch's page, measured under the same conditions
• Gaskets and seals I fitted, to the extent of the water resistance stated on the watch's page — which for most builds is none, so read that line carefully

What isn't covered

• Water damage. Unless the watch's own page states a tested rating, treat it as having no water resistance. Most don't.
• Impact damage — drops, knocks, a cracked crystal
• Magnetization. Common, usually fixable in minutes at any watchmaker, and not a defect
• Normal wear — scratches, bracelet stretch, strap wear, fading
• Straps, bracelets and buckles, which are consumables
• Anything opened, serviced or modified by someone else. Once another set of hands has been inside it I can't tell my work from theirs
• Loss or theft

What I'll do about it

I'll repair the watch, or replace the movement, whichever actually fixes it. If neither is practical — a part I can no longer source, say — you'll get a full refund of what you paid.

Shipping: you cover sending it to me, insured and with signature required. I cover sending it back to you the same way.

Making a claim

Email hello@elitewatchworks.com with:

• The build number (it's on the watch's page and on the caseback)
• What's happening, and when it started
• Photos or a short video if it's something visible

Don't post the watch before I've replied — I'll confirm the address and tell you how to pack it, which matters more than people expect.

Modified watches and factory warranties

Some watches are built on cases, movements or parts made by other manufacturers, and that's stated on each watch's page. Where it's the case, the watch has been modified and is no longer that manufacturer's product:their factory warranty does not apply, and Elite Watchworks is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or warranted by them. This warranty, from me, is the warranty on the watch.

Your other rights

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state. Any implied warranties are limited to the twelve-month duration of this written warranty, except where state law doesn't allow that limitation — in which case it doesn't apply to you.
