Sector Dial 38

A sector dial is a fussy thing to get right. The printed track has to line up with the hands and with the chapter ring, and any drift shows immediately because the whole design is built on straight lines meeting where they should.

This one started as an off-the-shelf dial that was close but not there. The sector track was refinished by hand and the lume reapplied so the numerals and the hands glow at the same intensity rather than the mismatch you get when a dial and a hand set come from different makers.

The movement is a standard NH35 with the date wheel removed and the window blanked, so the dial reads clean. It was regulated across five positions and settled at +2 seconds a day, against a factory tolerance that allows anywhere from -20 to +40.

Wearing it

At 38mm across and 46mm lug-to-lug it sits well on a smaller wrist — under 7 inches it won’t overhang. The double-domed sapphire adds height, so the 11.8mm figure includes the crystal; it clears a shirt cuff but you’ll notice it there.
